First, let me just say this: Looking for a therapist, whatever the reason may be, isn’t easy-- I know.
Making a commitment like this to yourself and your well-being is a great step in creating the life you
want to live. So: respect!

Our lives, our experiences, and our feelings can be scary, heavy, deeply complicated, or just downright
exhausting.
I understand—I spent a chunk of my life avoiding emotions (oh hey Netflix!) until I realized
that the stories and poems and art I created expressed a need for healing (and realized avoiding
emotions gets to be pretty awful, too).

So I now specialize in Expressive Arts Therapy, and currently have been working in mental health for 4
years. In my work, I draw from practicing principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy
. I often use arts like collage, writing, poetry, and more to
enrich and deepen the therapeutic experience. I have heard more than once “All I can draw is stick
figures!” but I’ve seen over and over that having a broader range of tools for expression offers new
insights and opportunities to challenge stuck ideas. And what’s so terrible about stick figures anyway?

I work to ensure that you feel supported, heard, and always respected. My approach is curious,
collaborative, and creative. I bring awareness of how social structures impact our lives and ideas of who
we are, so I work from a social justice and mindful framework. I identify as a multicultural person of
color, as a genderqueer cis-woman, and as a fat-identified body positive practitioner.
I understand that
everyone’s identity is very unique, and that labels don’t tell us the full story, so I practice humility in
learning about each person’s self-definitions.

I feel passionate about this work because I believe that change, healing, and growth are all possible,
once we feel empowered to write our own stories. I hope for the opportunity to learn more about
yours.
