Tele and Eco-therapy Based in OAKLAND, CA
Kade is a playful, heart-full, decolonial, depth, relational therapist who draws from liberation, community, somatic, expressive arts, transpersonal, indigenous and eco-psychologies. They focus primarily on couples, groups, polycules/alternative relationshapes and whole families (chosen & bio). They are living into how to retire the cops in our hearts into new roles that water our collective freedom and emancipation from colonial systems. In therapy they practice non-binary technologies and tools that support capacities to feel both joy and pain AND humor and heartache.
I invite you to shift some gentle awareness to your heart and as you read the words below that describe the texture and flavor of therapy with me. Let your heart speak back to you and listen.
Courage. Imagination. Peace. Love that transforms. Heartfulness. Ritual. Dreams. Poetry. Experiential. Trickster. Get uncomfortable together. Experiment. Play. Soul.
On my use of the words coloniality & decoloniality:
Coloniality, the complex matrix of power, oppression and exploitation that survives colonization, manages, reiterates and defines the rules of economy, authority, gender, sexuality, knowledge and subjectivity. Mignolo explains in, The Darker Side of Western Modernity, that both dewesternization and decoloniality are needed to enact presents and futures that recommunalize, reanimate and replace all living and haunting entities into their layered and textured contexts and ecologies.
Decolonial transformation is a soul-making process that we can access through practicing love and making art in therapy. Somatic therapy is more than just listening to our experience through our body’s sensibilities, it’s also about reshaping colonial binary habits into more possibility and reorganizing our psychological-spiritual boundaries. It’s about learning to feel our bodies as earthly, reconnecting us with place, and remembering ways to collectively care and tend to that wedded interdependence. Cancel culture and other social practices that keep us more apart than together can be replaced by ecologies of care where we all matter and care for each other in our differences. I see therapy as one way to activate this process, making grace for each other as we fall apart, shed and grow new skin.
What I offer:
Therapy for couples, polycules/alternative relationshapes, whole families(bio & chosen) of any structure and groups. Other relational configurations are welcome to inquire (child/parent, teacher/student, etc)
Tension Transformation with friends, lovers, platonic life partnerships, roommates, or families of origin and choice.
I offer 70-minute sessions based on your specific needs and desires on a sliding scale based on the participants combined income
I have training in various forms of circle/council practice and in queering and unwhitening transformative justice practices. This means slithering away from either/or carceral logics that focus on justifying violence/harm and into other non-binary possibilities that encourage both/and thinking/feeling/doing.
I see conflict as a natural tension that emerges with the neurodiversity of life and support you in building your capacity to both tolerate ambiguity, express your wants/needs/desires/wishes and to de-individualize the challenges you are facing. By seeing your suffering as connected to the collective and perpetuated by modern and colonial attempts to mute differences by locking people away from each other through borders, both material and psychic, pain can begin to alchemize into the juice that fuels more communal, interdependent and reciprocal circular worlds.
In the West , we are living, breathing, working, and loving in a culture constricted by puritanical, punitive White Euro-centrism that attempts to bifurcate perpetrator from person harmed and community. Cancel culture further traps us in patterns of disposability that perpetuate dissociating, splitting and disconnecting from our heart’s desire to take care of each other and the land that we exist with.
We will practice how to honor each other's complexity, multiplicity and the nonlinear nature of transforming that moves us beyond binary boundaries and options.
Groups (both drop-in and closed) that operate on a sliding scale based on relative financial standing.
