First and foremost, let me share that therapy has changed my life in more ways than I can put into words. I believe in the psychotherapeutic healing process and have experienced so much personal growth as a result of being a client. From the therapist perspective, I consider it a great honor to walk alongside my clients and support them in their healing, life-changing relationship or family challenges, processing of trauma, and pursuit of liberation!
My therapeutic approach is relational psychodynamic. This means that I believe the relationship between the client and the therapist is an essential aspect of the therapy. It also means that I am trained in psychodynamic theory, and this theory guides my therapeutic work. In my experience, creating a safe space between the client and the therapist is one of the most important foundations of healing in therapy. If we don’t build trust, it’s not fair for me to ask you to share your most profound places of hurt. The unfortunate truth for many of us is that if we keep all of our secrets hidden from literally everyone, and it can be extremely tough to find someone you trust enough to share these innermost aspects of yourself with.
A profound degree of healing work is often essential when attempting to make major changes in life. If you are struggling with some extremely deep and complex experiences, it may be necessary to work with someone who has the capacity and training to go there with you. As a therapist, I work with my clients to create a safe space for deep work (getting to the core). The vision is to co-create a healing space where integration and healing work can happen. The aim of the work is unique to each client, but in general, we strive for a greater sense of wholeness and lasting change.
This deep work may include grieving the loss of loved ones or pets, exploring childhood experiences, unpacking your narratives, taking a deeper look at your behaviors, thoughts, and emotions, exploring your communication style, exploring previous, current, or desired romantic relationships, and so many other impactful areas and experiences.
When working with me, you can expect some therapy sessions to be light and others to be surprisingly deep. Consistency is a vital ingredient in the style of therapy that I provide. I offer weekly therapy with the intention of working together in a long-term, depth-oriented fashion. In other words, we are in it for the long haul as opposed to resolving a single, more surface-level issue.
I am passionate about working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, identity-related issues, and people with relationship challenges. I am also passionate about working with people who feel outside the norm or more sensitive than those around them. Therapy is a highly vulnerable and unique process, and it is also a beautiful healing journey.
Please reach out if you would like to schedule a free initial consultation with me to get to know each other and see if we could be a good fit. I am excited to meet you, and I am excited to potentially support you on your healing journey!
