Do you sometimes wish parts of you didn't exist? Do you have a tough inner critic? Is there a part of you that you struggle to understand or are ashamed of?
“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion.” - bell hooks
Feeling seen, understood, and able to find connection and community can be an incredibly powerful experience — one that informs the stories we tell about others, as much as ourselves. When we are in pain and feel alienated from others, though, it can be especially difficult to imagine alternatives. The complexities of our intersectional identities and experiences can also add to that pain and sense of alienation, and can be a challenge to hold in the context of the world and everything happening in it.
I welcome all of the sensitive, weird, and messy parts that you hold and will walk with you through the wilds of your life. I believe that you are the expert on yourself and what you want for your life, and think of myself as a companion to walk with you while navigating the wilds. I believe that everyone is capable of changing the stories they tell, and that doing so can bring relief and help people find connection with themselves and others.
As a therapist, I prioritize a collaborative and relational approach to my work, emphasizing your unique strengths, interests, and relationships. My identities as a white, queer, transgender, neurodivergent, and chronically ill human inform my approach to social justice and community both in and out of the therapy room. An artist and an activist at heart, I am experienced in weaving and making meaning of the stories we are living and their social contexts.
